I want them to want what I want
Free will and the dynamics of relationships
Free will is a gift that gives every human being the greatest freedom and responsibility.
Each person is responsible for their own destiny.
In relationships, the desire often arises to control the other, to make them be the way we want them to be. Yet true love is not about changing the other, but about accepting them as they are. If someone leaves or chooses someone else, we have the opportunity—through spiritual self-awareness—to release fear and attachment, and to recognize that every relationship brings us a lesson. Respecting free will allows us to lovingly let go of what is not our path, and in doing so, make space for new possibilities.
Letting go can bring an end to the program of suffering.
Possession and control over another are habits of the ego. When someone refuses to let go of a partner who wants to leave, it often reflects deeper fears: a sense of personal worthlessness, or the avoidance of responsibility for one’s own life.
When you cling to someone who does not choose you, you are actually giving up your own power. The ego always tries to control others, to make decisions about another person’s life—what it believes is best for them—in order to avoid facing its own choices and its own destiny.
Free will is our greatest gift. Conscious living is not about manipulating another person’s choices, but about respecting them and allowing them to walk their own path. And if someone decides to leave, it does not mean that we are less. On the contrary: it gives us the opportunity to release fear and move in new directions, living a truly free life—trusting ourselves.
Deciding is not about another person, but about our own destiny. Not surrendering ourselves, but valuing ourselves. Consciousness means that we do not manipulate others through drama, but take responsibility for our happiness (or unhappiness) and for our decisions.
Love is not the game of “I want them to love me,” but the acceptance and respect of the other person’s decision.
You deserve the best. The partner who truly fits you—not the woman or man your ego wants to reclaim. They were never yours, because everyone belongs to themselves and freely decides how long they stay. When you understand and accept this, fear is replaced by love, and you take back power over your life. You begin to live. Freely. You are capable of this.
