When the past suffocates you
How long will you keep hurting yourself for your past actions?
How many tears, how much self-blame, how much gratitude shown will ever be enough?
How long will you try to save others beyond your strength just to pay off imagined guilt?
There are no sins here anymore.
Your past is not a debt you must repay for the rest of your life.
Your former self made the best decisions they could at the time.
But you are no longer that person. You have changed.
And if you have changed, why would you keep carrying old burdens?
Why would you remain trapped in suffering?
You do not need to sacrifice your present on the altar of yesterday.
You do not need to walk with your head bowed.
You do not need to humble yourself, to atone, to punish yourself, or to continue feeling shame for what once happened.
There is nothing to forgive.
Let go of guilt — and with it, the role of the victim.
You are neither guilty nor a victim.
You are simply a human being who learned, grew, and can finally live.
Love yourself.
Let go of the past.
Breathe.
