The Blessing of the Storm
We were taught that if something hurts, we must not cry. We were told that we must be strong, that we must not show weakness. Perhaps you also grew up like this: that your tears and your feelings must be hidden somewhere, as if they should be ashamed of.
But why would you lie to yourself?
Why would you not live the moment honestly – even if it is painful, even if that is what you are feeling now? It is not weakness to cry, it is not weakness to be vulnerable.
The secret is not to suppress what hurts, but to allow ourselves to get soaked to the skin in the moment of our feelings. To let the pain pass through us and allow it to fade, like a passing storm. Because these storms also cleanse the sky, so that the sun may shine again.
Allow yourself to feel everything. True freedom begins where we no longer hide from ourselves.
Come out into the rain with me. My words bend over you like a windshield of shelter.
This is not weakness, but trust.
With infinite love: ILDIKO
